Outrider armor is buggy.

General
Outrider armor is buggy.

If you've noticed that you've been getting wiped out on Outriders expeditions lately, you're not alone. Since last week's 1.07 update, the game has been having a bit of a problem with armor and survivability. Thankfully, one witty Redditor found a quick fix, a fix that has been around in the PC gaming community for years now: ...... Simply turn armor off and back on again.

Once unequipped, then reequipped, Redditor Thorkle13 shared this fix, saying he was frustrated that his character looked squishy because the damage reduction was "almost non-existent with defensive mods equipped." Apparently, unequipping and reequipping the armor just before the expedition improved the damage reduction.

The fix seems to have been corroborated by several other redditors in replies, although the exact cause has not yet been determined. One reply suggested that the armor is now completely broken, and that the fix only made the defensive mod work again. Another reply noted that certain mods are broken after cutscenes, but this may be a different issue altogether.

This is not the first time the old trick of "turn it off once and then turn it on again" has worked for outriders. Of course, this fix may not work for everyone, but it is definitely worth a try if you are having more trouble than usual.

Update: The developers of Outriders have acknowledged the issue, tweeting that they are "aware of an issue with damage reduction not working as expected with some players."

The developer has a Reddit thread gathering feedback with questions to help determine the cause of the bug." Our latest patch does not intentionally change the formula that directly causes this bug." Rather, the bug seems to temporarily remove mechanisms such as armor reduction for some players under certain conditions." People Can Fly is still determining exactly what those conditions are.
