General
Yakuza will continue to be a turn-based series.

Did you enjoy the yakuza? If so, good news. It looks like "Yakuza" will stick to turn-based RPG combat for the time being.

Ahead of the 2018 release of "Lost Judgment," the sequel to the "Yakuza" spinoff, series creator Toshihiro Nagoya and producer Kazuki Hosokawa told IGN that the main series will abandon its brawling roots after the success of "Like a Dragon."

"The 'Yakuza' series has transformed into a turn-based RPG. Meanwhile, over the past year, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has accumulated the know-how and resources to create flashy and exhilarating action games without strain. Through "Lost Judgment," we felt that we should carry on the action games in which Ryu ga Gotoku Studio excels"

.

Thus, the Yakuza's venerable third-person brawl will continue in "Judgment". Meanwhile, Yakuza will continue the JRPG-style absurdity of Like a Dragon. [Naturally, this news has divided Yakuza lovers within the company. Some say that if the series is going to continue with the new lead best, it makes sense to keep his party-centric combat, while others say that the slower pace has made exploring the city an absolute chore. The real shame is that "Judgment" and its sequel are not currently available for the PC, shutting us out of the classic yakuza slugfest.
