The Witcher" Season 2, Post-Production is "Big Time

After 158 days of filming, Netflix announced in early April that filming on "The Witcher" Season 2 has wrapped. Today, showrunner Lauren Hisrich said the season is now "deep" in post-production.

"Back in London," Hisrich wrote on Twitter. 'And Hisrich wrote on Twitter. That's right, in the middle of post-production on #TheWitcherS2.

Post-production, by definition, is all the work that follows after shooting, including editing, compositing visual effects, sound design, and reshoots if necessary.

Netflix has not yet announced a release date for The Witcher season 2. Hisrich said the same thing at a Reddit AMA in early 2020. The season is currently "deep" in post-production, so the goal seems achievable. As for when the new season will be available on Netflix, December 2021 is probably a good guess, but we will have to wait for an announcement before saying a firm date.

It is also nice to hear that Hisrich is "fucking excited" about his show's season, even if he is not an impartial observer. It's always better than the showrunners being unenthusiastic. Being "very bored" is probably not a good sign.
