QuakeCon will remain online only this year.

More than a year after the pandemic, several events are already flirting with the idea of returning to in-person events; QuakeCon is not so sure, announcing that its annual Bethesda show will remain online-only for another year.

QuakeCon broke the news earlier today via Twitter, announcing that it will once again forgo its live event in Dallas in favor of a fully digital event that will take place August 19-21.

QuakeCon was one of countless shows that went fully online last year, replaced by the less infectious QuakeCon At Home event. As a result, the show did not host a large LAN event where people could bring their PCs, but the show did host streams, panels, open houses, cosplay competitions, and more.

Bethesda has yet to reveal this year's lineup, but we can expect to hear more about the upcoming September release of "Deathloop. We don't know whether to bet on "Starfield," "The Elder Scrolls 6," or a follow-up to Machine Games' "Indiana Jones" sneak peek.
