Manufacturer suggests 8GB VRAM for AMD's unannounced RX 6600 series

There must be a Radeon RX 6600 from AMD's Skunkworks in the near future. Perhaps even a Radeon RX 6600 XT. But ASRock is ready. The company has registered four Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards with the EEC and two more RX 6600s with.

ASRock's list on the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission), listed by the always perceptive Komachi_Ensaka on Twitter, includes the following unreleased Radeon graphics cards: rx 6600 xt pgd 8go, rx 6600 xt clp 8go, rx 6600 xt cld 8go, rx 6600 xt cli 8g, rx 6600 cld 8go, rx 6600 cli 8g. [RX 6900 XT OCF 16G and RX 6700 XT 12G. [8GB of memory across both alleged SKUs is good news for gamers, as 6GB can seem a bit slim by today's standards. Existing RDNA 2 graphics cards come with 12GB or 16GB of GDDR6.

The RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT, if indeed there are two discrete cards, have long been thought to debut this year unaffected by the global chip shortage and will likely feature the Navi 23 GPU.

The Navi 23 GPU should appear as a scaled-down version of the Navi 22 GPU and Navi 21 GPU found in the RX 6700 XT and RX 6800/6900 series cards. They will also use the impressive RDNA 2 architecture, although it is unlikely that they will have the same level of power as these chips. This could make it a promising purchase for mid-range or value-oriented graphics cards.

And frankly, we'll take whatever we can get our hands on. [Also, this is not the first time we have heard about the Navi 23 GPU. It once appeared in a document describing the specs of Tesla's in-car gaming PC, which Tesla reported to have up to 10TFLOPs of performance. It also suggested the possibility of an 8GB memory configuration. [10 TFLOPs would put this card slightly ahead of the RX 5700 XT and close to the raw computing power of the PS5. Granted, this is all pretty much speculation at this point.

Whatever the exact details, a more affordable RDNA 2 card can be seen as inevitable; AMD's answer to Nvidia's RTX 3060 12GB and the lower-spec mobile chips of the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050, with a global chip shortage causing supply to Even if the supply is drastically reduced, it will have to come out in the not-too-distant future.
