After 'Splicer Season' goes sideways, 'Destiny 2' returns online

Update: For what it's worth, Bungie is "slowly" bringing Destiny 2 back online. You may have to spend some time in queue before you can get back in, and other rough edges may come into play, but with any luck, "Season of the Splicer" is really underway now.

Today's rollout of "Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer" is not going well: a "Honeydew" error has prevented players from accessing the new content, and now the game is completely offline for "emergency maintenance

In this context, the game is now completely offline.

One interesting thing to note in all of this is that even though crossplay is not supposed to go live until later this year, it is apparently working to some degree. Many players have confirmed this, while others have suggested that it may be complicating the situation, like the goat rodeo at the Gong Show.

Bungie has not elaborated on what exactly the problem is here or when the game will return, but will keep an eye on the situation and update when it is time to return.
