Blizzard Accepts High Cloning Fees for WoW Classics

World of Warcraft Classic is about to enter The Burning Crusade, which means that the throwback MMO's servers will be split between the new expansion and a pure vanilla version. However, if you want to clone your character between both, Blizzard was willing to charge a rather hefty $35 fee.

Not surprisingly, the WoW community balked at the idea of paying essentially the cost of a new game to have an existing character copied.

Yesterday, in response to feedback on the WoW forums, community manager Kaivax explained that Blizzard has "changed course" on this fee and lowered it to $15. He said, "Our original concept of the value of this service was based on how we priced other optional items and services. We want players who choose the Classic Era realm to feel that their choice has the potential to build trusted relationships and guilds with other players.

"However, we have received so much feedback from the community over the past week or so that we have decided to lower the price. We feel that even with the lower price, we will still be able to meet our goals for the new service and allow more players to try out the option of playing their characters in both the Classic Era and Burning Crusade Classic realms."

WoW Classic: The Burning Crusade is coming June 1, and players will be able to choose which character goes through the Dark Portal starting with next week's patch. Thankfully, if you don't want to decide between characters, it should be a little less expensive now.
