Epic's next free game is a big mystery

The Lion's Song "is a thoughtful and beautiful point-and-click game," Pip said when he personally selected it for the 2017 Game of the Year Award: its sepia-tinted stories of people struggling with the challenges of a chosen field "that ascetic bubbles and fizzles within its aesthetics, offering a complex and harmonious series of stories about human creativity and flaws."

While highly acclaimed, this is not a film that will resonate with everyone. But if you're intrigued and want to learn more, you can play it now for free on the Epic Games Store until May 20, and if you like it, you can also purchase a new title from developer Mi'pu'mi Games, "The Flower Collectors which is also available for half price. The campaign is open to all owners of "The Lion's Song" in the Epic Store, even those who have it before the campaign.

This is a good pickup (even though it is very likely that you will never actually play it), but even more intriguing is next week's game. This could be a sign of something big: last May 14, Epic's mysterious free gift turned out to be Grand Theft Auto 5, and the store was in turmoil. Hopefully things will go a little smoother this time around.
