The Sims 4 Roadmap Introduces New Packs, Base Game Updates, and Events

The Sims team has released a roadmap for The Sims 4 for the coming months, including new game packs, expansion packs, and updates to the base game.

The roadmap, dubbed "The Sims Summer," outlines some rather vague additions that will be added to the game in May, June, and July. It also mentions a new kit pack, which will come in the form of the "Courtyard Oasis Kit," which will be available later today. A "creative new game pack" featuring new carriers is also in preparation. Future expansion packs are also in the pipeline, with the only hint being that their content will be nature-related.

The Sims 4 also has three base game updates planned for the coming months: a skin tone update in December, which adds a wider range of skin tones and allows for makeup on dark skin. The long-awaited bunk beds were also recently added to the base game, although they were never really fully functional.

There are also two upcoming events: the Virtual Block Party and "This Summer's Sims Event." The Virtual Block Party will be similar to last year's Pride event, which highlighted LGBTQ+ sim streamers and featured Pride-themed in-game events and challenges; information about the second event is vague, but the "rock out " phrase suggests that it will be a music-themed event.

Details are still sketchy at this time, but there will be a stream on The Sims Twitch channel today at 11am PST/7pm BST. Everything should be revealed there, including the contents of the mystery game and expansion pack.
