New Races and Major Summer Update for GTA Online and Red Dead Online

In a new blog post, Rockstar described upcoming updates for both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. According to the post, the GTA Online summer update will "bring back car culture in a big way. What that means remains largely vague, but new race types, multi-player heist missions, and new customization options have been suggested.

Ahead of this major update, Rockstar will introduce eight new stunt races on May 27 and add seven new areas to Deadline "shortly thereafter." For those who missed it before, Shotaro the Tron Bike will be back, and Survival Mode will also take place at new locations in Los Santos and Blaine County.

Players online have referred to the upcoming update as a possible "Tuners and Outlaws"-style update, referring to a fictional, race-focused update trailer made by a fan in 2016. Since then, enthusiasm for such an update has been building in the community, and it appears that the time has finally come.

Red Dead Online will also get a new race on the 25th, adding standard and open races and target and open target courses; like GTA Online, Rockstar says the Red Dead Online summer update will include " largely kept players in the dark, except to mention "a variety of new missions around the world" featuring "menace, vicious crime, or large-scale, high-stakes heists. Fans of dodgy crime will have to keep looking, it seems.

The update will be available on May 27 for GTA Online and May 25 for Red Dead Online.
