General
Nvidia DLSS supports VR, starting with "No Man's Sky".

Nvidia brings Deep Learning Supersampling (DLSS) to virtual reality. This frame rate boosting technology has already done an excellent job of providing higher frame rates for desktop games and is now targeted at demanding PC VR games. Into The Radius" seems to provide a more pleasant experience with DLSS enabled.

Nvidia says so.

I can attest to the technology's ability to improve performance with negligible or low impact on visual fidelity, at least on the desktop; assuming the same is true in VR, at least with the latest DLSS 2.0/2.1, the reasons for disabling DLSS It doesn't seem that much.

If you're having trouble playing games in VR without turning down the graphics presets, potentially ruining the immersion a bit, it may be time to check out DLSS. Of course, Nvidia RTX graphics cards are on hold. This feature does not work on AMD GPUs, but AMD is planning an open alternative with FidelityFX Super Resolution.

This will prove especially useful if you are looking at Oculus Quest 2's new, experimental 120Hz refresh rate on your desktop, or Valve Index's phenomenally fast 144Hz refresh rate. Both require a fairly powerful GPU for a nausea-free experience.
