Portal 2" Update Opens Door to Larger, Better Level Design

Valve has implemented a new update to Portal 2, removing the 100MB limit on Workshop file size.

In addition to the removal of the file size limit, this update also brings several fixes and several optimizations to Portal's authoring tools, including lighting, demo playback, and corrupt text issues. In addition, two new command line options have been added to launch benchmarks with various video quality settings.

Although relatively small for an update of this kind, it is still worth noting the simple fact that Portal 2 was released 10 years ago. Somehow, however, Valve has been releasing patches fairly regularly this year, one in February and two in March, before this patch. Naturally, this has led to a flurry of exciting (and perhaps not entirely serious) predictions about the imminent announcement of "Portal 3," "Portal 2: Episode 1" and "Half-Life 3," and so on.

I don't think it's likely, but the possibility of bigger and better things coming out of the Portal 2 workshop (which has already produced some very impressive things) is very intriguing. The full patch notes are as follows.
