This fighting game glossary will help you distinguish between the use of air resets and elbows.

Infil, who runs The Complete Killer Instinct Guide, a website dedicated to all things related to the fighting game classic Killer Instinct, has announced a new project: a fighting game glossary. [It covers terms from a variety of games, including Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, etc.

Did you know, for example, that "juggle potential" has nothing to do with any M-designated thoughts you may have, but is instead a term for how long a combo that lifts an opponent into the air will hit?

The aforementioned air reset represents the act of hitting a character in such a way that they can land before their opponent and immediately continue their attack. It is very complicated.

In addition to the terms and detailed descriptions of each, Infill also provides each term in Japanese. Such a glossary is an invaluable resource not only for those already familiar with the scene, but also for those new to fighting games who want to get involved in the fighting game community but are hitting a threshold when trying to figure things out. Some may only occasionally watch fighting game tournaments and want to be able to parse out background information.

Infil's guide was a passion project, and the fighting game glossary took eight months of work according to Infil.
