Four Cyberpunk 2077 Lawsuits Against CDPR Consolidated into One Mega Lawsuit

Four separate lawsuits against CD Projekt Red have been consolidated by the court into one mega-suit.

CD Projekt Red provided an update on the ongoing lawsuits, stating in a translated blog post, "The court has consolidated the lawsuits and appointed a lead plaintiff. After this consolidation, all four lawsuits may be subject to a common court proceeding."

The court also stated that "the court has decided to consolidate all four lawsuits.

Two of these lawsuits were filed against the CDPR in December 2020 and January 2021 by well-known investors who claimed they were misled about the status and playability of Cyberpunk 2077 on the previous generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The other two lawsuits were not detailed in the CDPR postings, but are presumably of a similar nature, given that they are grouped together.

CD Projekt said in January, shortly after the second lawsuit was filed against the studio and three weeks after the first, that it would "take vigorous action to defend itself."

Cyberpunk 2077 launched relatively successfully on PC, where we gave it a 78 for an "onslaught of bugs" that ruined a great setting. But for our friends on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it was a completely different story; they were unable to play the game at all and were offered immediate refunds by Sony, Microsoft, and CDPR. Despite these problems, the game sold 13 million copies in its first few months.

Months later, bugs continue to be fixed in Cyberpunk 2077, with the last major update fixing a whopping 484 problems in the PC version.
