TimeSplitters' newest work will be presented under a "reformed" free radical design.

A new Time Splitters game will be developed "within the next few months," publisher Deep Silver has confirmed. Not only that, but it has been confirmed that the founding studio, Free Radical Design, has been reorganized for development, with founders David Doak and Steve Ellis on board.

"TimeSplitters" was released in 2000 and was a popular FPS on consoles. It had much in common with Rare's classic Nintendo 64 shooters "Goldeneye 007" and "Perfect Dark," but only because Dork was involved in the production of these games. The last official "Time Splitters" game was released in 2005, but a fan project called "Time Splitters Rewind" is still in development.

Deep Silver has said little about this new fourth installment. Free Radical Design is currently "focused on building a studio" and will be based in Nottingham, as it was before it closed in 2014.

Deep Silver's parent company, Koch Media, purchased the TimeSplitters IP in 2018, promising "future products" for the series at that time.Rumors of a TimeSplitters 2 remake were denied last year, but the company has been working on a Homefront: more 4K remastered version was found in the code for Homefront: The Revolution."
