Amy Hennig, co-writer of cancelled "Star Wars" project, for new adventure game.

In 2019, film production company Skydance Media announced that industry veteran Amy Hennig and former EA executive Julian Beeke will head its new interactive division. Both previously worked at EA on a cancelled Star Wars game codenamed "Ragtag."

Now Hennig has joined another former Ragtag-era colleague, writer and actor Todd Stashwick, to work with the studio on a new adventure game. [The tweet also mentions that the studio is looking for a senior animation engineer and a senior software engineer; Stashwick said in a separate tweet that he is "very excited to be working with Amy Hennig as always."

Amy Hennig is a former creative director at Naughty Dog, co-creator, director, and writer of the first three Uncharted games, as well as Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Battlefield Hardline She is also a writer for games such as "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver" and "Battlefield Hardline". Expectations for her new work will be high, but with the studio still in the hiring stage, it will be some time before we hear anything concrete.

In an interview with GamesBeat in 2019, Hennig said that finite, writer-created stories, as opposed to service-based games, are her forte. She also said she intends to put a lot of effort into "visual fidelity, character fidelity, and performance."

As someone who likes what we often (perhaps wrongly) call "story-driven" games, that dedication to the craft sounds exciting to me, and Hennig's track record suggests that the new studio has great things in store. I'm also glad to see Hennig's work on more platforms, as the "Uncharted" series is still a PlayStation exclusive. That said, Sony seems to want to release more games on the PC, so will "Uncharted" be released on the PC at some point?
