DC to release animated film "Injustice" hidden in another movie's special features.

DC has revealed plans for an animated film based on the "Injustice" game by hiding it in the bonus footage for the animated film "Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2."

Journalists received a press release about the Blu-ray release of the Batman movie, in which they found a cheeky reference to "a sneak peek of the next DC animated movie - an advanced look at Injustice." Ed Boone, co-creator of Injustice and creative director of developer NetherRealm Studios, has also been tight-lipped since the news broke. [Injustice] is set in an alternate universe where Superman becomes a villain because he accidentally kills his wife Lois. In both games of Injustice, the Justice League attempts to overthrow Superman's regime, but like their own group, Superman has many superpowered allies who must be defeated. It's a great story for a fighting game, a genre that often demands better narratives (NetherRealm's "Mortal Kombat 11" is pretty great in that regard, too)

Will the animated film adapt the main story of "Injustice Whether it will function as a prequel, sequel, or comic book adaptation that draws between the two games remains to be seen; while the future looks bright for fans of the DC animated series, the news comes at a time when DC games like "Injustice" and "Batman: Arkham" It comes on the heels of an announcement that publisher Warner Bros. Interactive will merge part of its company with Discovery, and it remains to be seen which studios will be transferred to the new owners.
