General
A Dark Souls-style Final Fantasy could be announced soon.

According to one person on Twitter, "le nouveau Final Fantasy de Square Enix n'estre qu'un Souls-like," or "Square Enix's new Final Fantasy is nothing but Souls-like."

Of course, we do not intend to share only the claim from the mysterious French speaker who calls himself SoulsHunt. There is corroboration for this rumor: according to Fanbyte, there is a source who confirms the truth of this rumor, and that the name of the game may be "Final Fantasy Origins."

The rumor is also supported by a source who claims that the game will be called "Final Fantasy Origins" and that "the game will be called "Final Fantasy Origins.

According to Fanbyte, Origin appears to be a "PlayStation 5" exclusive, but a PC version will be released after the PS5 launch Both Fanbyte and the Twitter leaker claim that the game is being developed by Team Ninja and is similar to Nioh i.e., a bit like Dark Souls. (Specifically, Fanbyte says it is being made by the Team Ninja group that developed Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, and that some of Nioh's developers were put into this group.) Fanbyte also reports that the game will be "more accessible" than other games in the genre and, according to SoulsHunt, will have a difficulty setting, unlike the Dark Souls games.

"Final Fantasy Origins" is reportedly part of Square Enix's E3 exhibit, so we should hear more details directly from sources at least in June. I do not have an independent source to confirm this rumor, but there is little chance that Team Ninja is working on another Final Fantasy game.

Square Enix will certainly be at E3 2021, but no live stream dates have been announced yet. If any announcements are made, they will be found on the E3 2021 press conference schedule (so far only a few complete announcements are in progress).
