Apex Legends Finally Punishes Players Who Abandon Arena Battles

I've been enjoying Apex Legends' new 3vs3 arena mode quite a bit over the past few weeks, but lo and behold, it has a major abandoner problem, and Respawn seems to want to remedy this with a patch released today that penalizes players who abandon their teams The new patch is now.

The penalty for desertion is the same as the one already in place in Apex Legends' ranked battle royale mode, which imposes a 10-minute timeout before players can play again. only if they were in a full squad when they left, and clarified that they will not be penalized if they leave after another teammate leaves first. In other words, a player will not be penalized for leaving after another teammate leaves first. After the update, players will be warned about the withdrawal penalty before they leave a match.

While withdrawals are a problem in basically any multiplayer FPS, they are especially troublesome in Apex Legends. This new penalty shows that Respawn is serious about Arenas' competitive integrity. Now we just need a proper 3vs3 ranked mode.

This minor patch also includes a fix for Wattson's unintended nerf. An exploit that allowed users to purchase upgrades without sufficient credits has also been fixed. After a brief break to fix other exploits, Valkyrie has also resumed use on the firing range.
