PC version of "Days Gone" brings new success to PlayStation

Although the PC version of Days Gone launched with middling ratings (63 when Andy saw it), it did quite well in its launch week. It was the best-selling game on Steam that week, with 27,450 concurrent players over the weekend and a 92% favorable rating.

This still wasn't enough to surpass Sony's other PC venture, Horizon Zero Dawn (thanks, VG24/7), although Horizon initially received mixed reviews on Steam, with performance, crashes and other things that were pretty bad for a port, it almost doubled its player base in its launch week. In the first few days, the number of concurrent users reached a peak of 56,557, but then took a rather steep drop.

Of course, numbers alone do not mean that the launch of "Days Gone" was "worse" than "Horizon," but sales are sales. It is also worth noting that Steam reviews for "Horizon" were much lower at launch, with an overall favorable rating of 80%.

Sales of "Days Gone" were perhaps a bit slower than director John Garvin would have liked, but it is impressive that both games are currently at 92% in Steam's recent favorable reviews. Both are doing well, and the sales and positive reviews there can only bode well for more Sony-exclusive games being ported to the PC in the future. Now, can we have "Bloodborne" next, please?
