AMD Zen 4 may still be a long way off, but the possible specs are coming out fast and furious!

Serial leaker ExecutableFix has once again taken to Twitter to reveal AMD's Zen 4 consumer chip lineup, and along with some details about what AMD's "Raphael" chip looks like, he also, like Intel before also included a picture of what AMD may be moving to Land Grid Array (LGA) as opposed to the Pingrid Array (PGA) that was used in the AM4 platform.

This is obviously not a picture of AMD's next major chip, but it was created by ExecutableFix to show what we will have when Zen 4 is released.

If you've ever flipped an Intel chip over, this will be a familiar design; AMD has used the LGA design before with their Threadripper and EPYC chips, so we know exactly how it works.

The pin-outs are also considerably more than the AM4 socket: the AM4 has 1,331 pins, while the AM5 could have 1,718.

Some of the specs presented with the images are also intriguing: the idea that Raphael will only support DDR5 seems a bit unreasonable, simply because the price of the new memory standard could be prohibitive for some time. By comparison, Intel's Alder Lake is expected to support both memory standards for exactly that reason.

Zen4 is not scheduled until fall 2022, and much could happen in the meantime.
