PUBG remasters Miramar and introduces two new maps.

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is preparing to overhaul its large desert map, Miramar, and the developer has announced plans for two more all-new battle royale maps.

PUBG Corp outlined the game's roadmap for the year and introduced plans for a major remastering of Miramar. The map had already undergone minor tweaks to bring it in line with the game's other arenas, but update 12.1 will bring major rework to the desert map's lighting, performance, graphical fidelity, and terrain.

"The terrain, building textures, and layout will be significantly revamped, unnecessary obstacles will be removed for easier traversing, and cliffs will be updated as the game becomes more vertical," PUBG Corp wrote.

However, the developer also teased two new maps, codenamed "Tiger" and "Kiki."

"Tiger" is the next big map to be added after the "Miramar" remaster and will finally introduce respawns to PUBG's battle royale. in "Apex Legends Introduced and then taken down by "Fortnite," "PUBG" will finally introduce its own respawn system.

"This is a feature that is becoming quite common in the battle royale genre and one that has been questioned quite a bit, especially in regards to duos and squads. Especially when it comes to duos and squads." You can see that we've been experimenting a little bit lately with what respawning looks like on Battlegrounds, and Tiger is a big reason why."

The Kiki, scheduled for late 2021 or early 2022, promises to be a terrifyingly dense urban battleground, featuring lots of towering skyscrapers and underground complexes. Full annotations are here.
