A little bit of the tainted chalice: conquest for your roguelike deckbuilder's fix

I see you wiggling and chewing your fingers. It's been a while since I've stacked the cards." The latest Monster Train expansion isn't for you anymore, is it?

Tainted Grail: Conquest, released this week, is a roguelike deck-building game with a dark fantasy twist on Arthurian mythology. A hybrid of a roguelike and an RPG, the emphasis is on the roguelike, much like Slay the Spires, but with a richer story behind it.

Much of Tainted Grail's appeal lies in the mix-and-match of nine classes and hundreds of cards and passive skills to create your own unique combos on each run. These meta elements allow for a bit of progression from run to run.

As for me, I like the strange monsters in this game. What are those, crystalline crabs or something? Funky whale monsters? A log with a face" I don't like any of them per se, but I quite like seeing them in theory.

As of this writing, it has a review favorability rating of 86% on Steam; Tainted Grail is available on Steam for $20: the price on Steam is $20 and is on sale for $18 until June 3.
