If you're looking for a monitor on a budget," Dell's 24-inch FreeSync model costs just $117.

If you're looking for the best gaming monitor money can buy, this is not it. But if you're looking for a budget option with reasonable specifications, including a reasonable 75Hz refresh rate, Dell's budget-priced SE2422H is worth considering.

Dell is offering discounts on several gaming monitors today, and the SE2422H is one of the least expensive models: it's down from $169.99 to $129.99, and if you use coupon code "SAVE10" at checkout, the price drops another 10% to to $116.99. Not a bad price. Not a bad price.

You won't get all the bells and whistles at this price point, but if you're looking to spend around $100, you don't have to compromise on a garbage display. In this case, the SE2422H uses an overclocked VA panel with a resolution of 1920x1080, a refresh rate of 75 Hz via HDMI, and a 5 ms response time in "Extreme" mode (8 ms in "Fast" mode and 12 ms in "Standard" mode). [The SE2422H also supports AMD's FreeSync technology, so if you own a Radeon GPU, you can synchronize the display's refresh rate with your graphics card to eliminate screen tears. [At this price point, there is no DisplayPort input, limited ergonomic adjustments (tilt only), and no accessories like a USB hub or speakers (who uses the latter anyway?).

Still, a 75Hz refresh rate and FreeSync support at this price is pretty good, as is the fact that this is not based on a cheap TN panel.
