AMD would like to know what games require FidelityFX super resolution processing.

AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) will be on virtually every graphics card this June, and by repeatedly shouting at AMD, "Do you think Rockstar can cram FSR support into Red Dead Redemption 2 ahead of Nvidia's DLSS to pack it in?" that would certainly prove the "easy to integrate" part of FSR.

AMD showed off this exciting new feature during its Computex 2021 keynote, promising that this impressive new technology will provide a frame rate bump to all Radeon GPUs dating back to the ancient RX 500 series cards.

However, FSR is not limited to AMD's own architecture; Nvidia and perhaps even Intel have been invited to the FSR party. In fact, AMD ran FidelityFX Super Resolution on the venerable GTX 1060 and demonstrated a 41% performance boost with Godfall. Compared to the ultra-exclusive Nvidia DLSS, AMD's move is very sweet.

As our own Katie pointed out, "AMD is extracting extra performance from competitors' GPUs in a way that Nvidia cannot."

What's a little less exciting about the FSR announcement is the fact that it's still something that needs to be enabled at the developer level; so far AMD has only said that "over 10 game studios and engines" will enable FSR support in 2021. However, AMD wants you to participate now to put pressure on developers to vote on which games need to enable FSR.

This reminds me of when Microsoft asked for backward compatibility recommendations for the Xbox One. That was always fun.

The original Red Dead Redemption was #1 on that list, so there is a certain symmetry in putting RDR2 at the top of FidelityFX's super-resolution list. And while Red Dead Redemption 2 is beautiful, it is also a resource hog, so providing adequate frame rates for older GPUs is most welcome. Especially for graphics cards for which DLSS is useless.
