Protect your valuable PC hardware with $220 battery backup

You may not be aware of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) because it does not affect your frame rate or make your PC run faster. However, if a power outage does occur, it is safer to have a UPS. If you don't already have one, check out CyberPower's CP1500PFCLCD model, on sale at Newegg for $219.95.

This is not a huge discount, but to make it even more affordable, Newegg is enclosing a $30 gift card with purchase. This gift card is good for up to one year and there is no dormancy fee.

A good UPS is like insurance for your hardware, not just for power outages. These high-end models feature a pure sine-wave output that provides as much or more clean energy than the utility grid, making them ideal for sensitive equipment such as those found in PCs. [Active Voltage Regulation (AVR) is also part of the package, which combats unstable voltage from the power grid and extends battery life.

This model has 12 outlets. Half of them provide both surge protection and battery backup, while the others provide surge protection only (fairly common for UPSs). There are also USB charging ports on the front for external devices (one USB-C and one USB-A) to charge smartphones even during a power outage; LAN cables can be routed through this backup; and a USB port on the rear panel provides a USB port for a USB cable.
