Fortnite's absurd and never-ending story has taken a new turn. Aliens have reportedly begun snatching players from the battle royale.

As reported by The Gamer, a number of Fortnite players have reported being "abducted" by a UFO that began circling over Murder Island. The abductions appear to be limited to Risky Reel, where players were recorded being thrown into a field after being enveloped in a green flash.

Another Redditor gave us an outside view of the abduction as the unlucky player was slowly but surely sucked into the light tunnel. If I were a ruthless gamer, I would think that onlookers like this would be a great way to boost your score in a battle royal.

The aliens have been warning of their appearance in Fortnite for some time, with crop circles, crashed helicopters, and cryptic radio messages. Full-scale abductions still seem to be somewhat rare, but they are likely to increase in frequency as we get closer to the Independence Day-style scenario that is about to hit Fortnight.
