AMD stated that it is up to Nvidia to optimize FidelityFX super-resolution.

Following AMD's announcement of FidelityFX Super Resolution, an open source cross-vendor upscaling technology, Scott Herkelman, vice president and general manager of Radeon, said that Nvidia will be doing its part to make this He reminded his followers on Twitter that they need to do their part to make the technology worthwhile.

AMD's FSR, a type of image resolution upscaling technology, has been compared to Nvidia's DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). There may be some significant differences that should be noted, but basically they do the same thing. In other words, they try to minimize the negative impact on frames per second while outputting a higher resolution for games.

AMD has been preaching the benefits of FSR being an open technology and working with non-AMD graphics cards, but as Herkelman made clear in a recent tweet, AMD will not be providing optimizations for Nvidia users.

In other words, it was officially pointed out that Nvidia is responsible for optimizing FSR for its users, regardless of the openness of the technology. We are surprised. Collaboration may be the way to go, but neither company can afford to devote a portion of its labor force at this time.

The question remains: while it would be interesting to see both FSR and DLSS working together, it could end up being a bit of a mess.

FidelityFX Super Resolution will be announced on June 22, and we will have to wait and see how far Nvidia takes the technology to its customers.

We can lead the horse to water.
