The long-awaited first patch for Necromanda: Hired Gun arrives.

Streum On Studio is the definition of a Eurojunk developer that releases ambitious but buggy games that keep you playing despite their flaws. The latest is Necromunda: Hired Gun, a mobile shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe that gives you a grappling hook, tons of augmetic implants, and a cyberdog. It was released with many issues including stuttering during map load, CTDs, and other performance issues. I had to go back to the menu and exit both times because the final wave did not appear in the defense side mission and the rescue mission did not prompt me to release the detained psyker.

Anyway, the first patch came. The voice volume has been increased so it's easier to hear what people are saying (admittedly, many of the NPCs are conveniently masked so you don't have to animate their mouths, but you should still be able to make out the words), and the missing sound FX have been added again. The problem with reticles showing up when the sights are off also seems to have been fixed.

"We are still working on more time-consuming fixes for stuttering, FPS issues, and various other bugs. The game will continue to improve, so stay tuned!" Among the issues still being worked on are "various fixes to enemy AI. Hopefully, the enemies will actually respond.

The full patch notes are here.
