When it comes to Roblox knockoffs, Mega Blox characters don't think "fashion". But at least one player loved his Roblox look so much that he spent a whopping $4,115 on a limited-edition Gucci handbag to bring it to his favorite obby.

As The Fashion Law noted, the fashion brand hosted its own "Gucci Garden Experience" event on its online platform last month. Ostensibly a big advertising campaign, the room still allowed players to try (and potentially buy) high-fashion accessories for their blocky avatars.

One of these, the Queen Bee Dionysus Bag, initially sold for only 475 Robux (about $5). However, since it was only available for two days and one hour per day, the price soon began to rise. The highest bid was $4,115, but some people tried to sell it for more than $10,000.

It is worth noting that the actual version of Dionysus originally sold for "only" $3,400.

Of course, astronomical prices for in-game cosmetics are nothing new. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a prime example, with the marketplace flooded with thousand-dollar knives and weapons skins (while also engaging in some healthy money laundering).

Roblox recently repositioned itself as a platform for "experiences" rather than games in the wake of the legal turmoil surrounding the Epic v. Apple case. Nevertheless, Roblox has always found a place in the non-gaming scene, and had been developing a fashion scene long before Gucci became involved. Nevertheless, expect someone to bring some very expensive accessories to the top of Terry Cavanagh's behemoth.
