Itch's massive Palestinian aid bundle raised over $500,000

Itch's Indie bundle for Palestinian Aid, a huge charity collection of over 1,000 games, tabletop RPGs, soundtracks, and more, raised over $500,000 for the UN Relief Works Agency's efforts to provide food and aid to the people of Gaza.

The Palestine Bundle followed last year's Bundle for Racial Justice, which raised over $8.5 million for legal defense funds in the United States. This year's charity run, organized by developer Alanna Linayre, once again succeeded in attracting a wide selection of well-known indies and amateur developers alike.

The centerpiece of the bundle was Palestinian developer Rasheed Abueideh's Liyla and the Shadows of War. However, whether self-referred or not, the bundle includes everything from Minit, VVVVVV, Nuclear Throne, and Art Sqool to more esoteric games such as This Discord Has Ghosts In It. Like last year, purchasing this bundle will not flood your itch library with 1,019 games at once, but rather you will receive a link to a download page.

"Indie games are unique in that they tell a story that you won't find in AAA or other games. We pour our life experiences into our games and share a part of ourselves with the world," writes Lineil.

"Palestinian game developers are no different in this regard, but they also face the challenge of limited access to basic services such as clean water, electricity, healthcare, and food security.

There are still three days to go, so expect this bundle to exceed $1 million by the end of the week. We are also pleased that last year's bundle was not just a blip; Itch may not have the reach of Steam or Epic, but it is quickly proving to be a powerful force for charity.
