Red Dead Online" Summer Update Will Include Private Home Robberies and Other "Illegal Activities"

The previously announced early summer update for Red Dead Online should rejuvenate the standalone multiplayer with plenty of new stuff, but Rockstar Games is still keeping it vague.

Thanks to the latest Newswire update, we at least know that the previously-announced "illegal activities" will include robbing camps and houses in Free Roam. And apart from robberies, we should expect "further means of personal enrichment," which is again puzzling. At least robbery "does not have an initial cost" and appears to be available at no additional cost.

The summer update is probably Rockstar's answer to the overall state of Red Dead Online. Last year, players even began dressing up as clowns to protest the lack of activity. But aside from a few sporadic updates in February, such as new solo missions, naturalist roles, and new races, things haven't changed much in the big picture.

Since heists are a side activity in Red Dead Redemption 2, the summer update may be an attempt to create similar missions. This would take the game from a single-player game to something that online players can enjoy with their friends, which is ideal what we want from a multiplayer based on Red Dead 2.

Fans are already hoping that the bank will eventually be able to be robbed, but aside from a few details like this, it is a widely anticipated activity. Hopefully, Rockstar will stop the tomfoolery soon and announce an actual release date and details. After all, this is the season for such things.
