PUBG's Terrible Bots Tone Down

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has released an emergency hotfix to calm the battle royale killer bot problem.

Last month, PUBG's 12.1 update appeared with several changes aimed at making the game's hapless bots a bit tougher. However, these upgrades seemed to go a little too well, and PUBG's warzone seems to be plagued by laser-accurate aimbots.

Clips shared on Reddit and Twitter show bots with utterly horrific reaction times and accuracy, the kind that would instantly hit the report button if this were a human player. From wall hacks to AIM bots, these AI players seem to have it all.

This week's patch did not completely revert the bots to their pre-12.1 state. Instead, the bots are now much less accurate when shooting players, have slower reaction times, and can only use full-auto fire mode at close range.

"In response to recent player feedback, we have rolled out an update with additional changes to the bot balancing adjustments applied in update 12.1. We are closely monitoring player sentiment regarding bots and will make additional changes if necessary."

This week's update also fixes issues with several maps in Miramar; PUBG plans to add more maps later this year, one of which will finally introduce respawning to the Brendan battlefield.
