FNCS All-Star Showdown Combines Competitive and Creative Modes

The Fortnite Champion Series is merging with the game's Creative mode to create a new kind of competition that will be enlivened by player-created creations.

The FNCS All-Star Showdown will run from June 11 through June 26, pitting top players against each other on maps created by Creative mode users such as ImmatureGamer, Enigma, and Dummblond. The total prize pool is $3 million.

Frankly, as someone who believes that Fortnite's Creative mode is a really great tool (and will be even better with the addition of Unreal Engine support), I feel that this is a great attempt to expand the fan base beyond the battle royale I feel Epic is doing the smart thing by allowing regular players to access these Creative Mode maps themselves, and you can also check out PC Gamer's favorite Fortnite Creative code here.

Here's a rundown of the different types of competitions players will be participating in.

Blueprint Battle (June 23): players must edit a course full of obstacles faster than anyone else. Destruction without weapons. CODE 3840-8537-4348

Bullseye Bonanza: (June 23): players progress through the map while firing a barrage of targets.CODE: 9420-6335-1309

High Tier (June 24): a race downhill and players will be have to use fancy building techniques that countrymen like me don't even know the names of. For example, "tunnels, crank 90, waterfalls". I never felt older. Code 3947-8128-3885

Play for Keeps (June 25): 3vs3 mode with the top 4 teams from each region, but no building ability. Code 5892-6942-6261

All-Star Trick Shot: a map designed for free play where you can goof around and shoot as much gameplay as you want. Code 5332-3250-5319

On June 26, Epic will host a more orthodox solo tournament. Players will play six games with cash cup rules. The player with the most losers at the end of each game will win an additional $113-$1,020.

The official Epic rules can be found here.

From June 11 to June 13, Epic is hosting a pre-show of sorts called Hype Days, where content creators will host their own challenges and tournaments based on the All-Star Showdown and Creative Mode challenges.

From June 18 to June 20, all eligible Champion League players can compete in this standalone tournament.

Epic will have a dedicated stream to watch the FNCS All-Star Showdown by visiting watch.fortnite.com or the Fortnite Twitch channel.

If you watch on Twitch, Epic is giving away in-game loot, including emoticons and loading screens.
