Audit of Scavenger Studios "found no evidence of systematic sexual or psychological harassment.

An audit of season developer Scavenger Studios recently concluded and found no evidence of systematic sexual or psychological harassment, according to a statement published on Scavenger's website.

Following allegations of a toxic work environment, including molestation and verbal harassment, by creative director Simon Dalvaux, CEO Amélie Lamarche stepped down temporarily and Dalvaux was suspended indefinitely. Scavenger Studios then initiated a workplace assessment by an independent auditor. The audit worked with 85% of Scavenger Studios' employees and found no evidence of allegations, but found that "there are still workplace behaviors that need improvement" and therefore developed a plan aimed at improving organizational culture, human resources, and goal communication.

According to the plan, Scavenger wants to make studio and employee performance and its evaluation more transparent, work on "a clear path and development plan for employees," and clarify each employee's role and responsibilities as well as Scavenger's overall mission, vision and values.

The statement also makes clear that the audit itself and the plans surrounding it should have been communicated more clearly to employees and the media. ......" The report found that the lack of clear communication from management about the steps taken created the perception that nothing was done or that the allegations were not taken seriously. This is not true. However, the lack of communication regarding management's actions following the allegations is regrettable."

"The details of what happened and the action taken were not communicated to the team until recently when the allegations were reported in the media. They should have done so at the time the incident occurred to reinforce the company's values by clearly sharing with everyone what the consequences of such actions would be. Instead, the lack of transparency created an opaque atmosphere. This was no small mistake. It caused confusion and emotional turmoil, something we deeply regret."

LaMarche was subsequently reinstated as CEO, and the Scavengers' board approved Davreau's "conditional reinstatement." He has since taken on a "smaller, non-managerial role in R&D."
