Netflix is animating Far Cry. The show was announced during the final live stream of Netflix Geeked Week (which, in case you didn't know, is Geeked Week), but the streaming service said nothing more than that.

All that was shown was the Fry Cry logo, although Summer Game Fest producer Geoff Keighley guest hosted the video game-themed Geeked Week episode ("Geeked Keighley" is his Death Stranding name should have been), but as he noted, the logo does not even indicate which Far Cry he is talking about.

I would expect the animation to be based on the prehistoric Far Cry Primal, but that is most unlikely. My guess is that it will be its own story, borrowing elements from the numbered "Far Cry". A vacationing hero, a cult leader villain, drugs, and so on. Of course, this is just speculation, since all Netflix shows is literally the word "Far Cry". It is possible that the film is directly based on the upcoming "Far Cry 6," in which Giancarlo Esposito plays a non-villain role.

Early on in the Netflix stream, we learned about another Far Cry-related show: Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Shankar reinterprets Ubisoft's characters and world as retro cartoons, like the Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon DLC for which the series is named.

We also got a small glimpse of "The Witcher" Season 2, as Lance Reddick will play Wesker in the live-action Netflix series.
