General
Crossfire Legion is a "classic RTS" in development by the makers of Homeworld 3.

Crossfire is a competitive FPS popular in Asia, especially in China and Korea, but only relatively recently has it begun to enter the Western market: Remedy is developing a single-player campaign for CrossfireX, but unfortunately no PC version has yet been confirmed.

However, one of the newest additions to the series is definitely Crossfire: a completely new RTS in development by Blackbird Interactive, the studio behind Homeworld3.

The inclusion of strategy in a shooter series is a surprise, but a perfect fit for Blackbird, which was founded by former members of Homeworld studio Relic Entertainment. The studio's first release was the excellent 2015 RTS "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak" and more recently the very promising outer space scrap metal sim "Hardspace: Shipbreaker".

"Crossfire has been featured on a variety of platforms and genres and is growing into a global IP, now reimagined as an RTS," said Smilegate Entertainment CEO, the original developer and publisher of Crossfire, Ina Jang, CEO of Smilegate Entertainment, the original developer and publisher of Crossfire. "Crossfire: Crossfire: Legion will appeal not only to gamers who enjoyed the original Crossfire, but to all gamers who want to experience the classic RTS experience reinvented for the modern age."

Crossfire Legion will be released through Koch Media's new Prime Matter label and is slated for release in 2022. There is not much to see yet, but you can see some of the screens below.
