Grime is a trippy new Metroidvania with living weapons and a strange art style

One of the strange new games on display at this year's Guerrilla Collective Indie Showcase is Grime." A fast, relentless action RPG in which you smash your enemies with living weapons that mutate form and function." It's a pretty wild premise. From the trailer, developer Clover Bite is not afraid to get weird, describing the game as featuring "eye-popping surrealism."

Frankly, the Guerrilla Collective trailer is little more than an inexplicable cutscene and doesn't seem to have been uploaded anywhere yet, so instead we present a gameplay video that the developer uploaded to its YouTube channel yesterday. Cool.

I especially like the sound of the weapons. The developer describes them as "clawing swords" and "centipede whips," which should set Grime apart from other games in this crowded genre. The developer also promises huge, formidable bosses, improved skills, and skill-based combat with parry and air juggling. Keep your eyes peeled for more.
