E3 Leaks and Rumors: Leaked Information to Date

The E3 season is a time of big announcements and reveals, and game publishers go to great lengths to keep their surprises a secret until the big moment arrives. But no matter how hard publishers try to keep everything under wraps, leaked information always bubbles up days and weeks before the big event.

Is leaking really a bad thing? While they may lose some moments of pure surprise, some leaks can take the pre-announcement hype to an even higher level by spurring anticipation for the big game. There is a big difference between expecting something and having a reasonable expectation (with screenshots) that it will happen. Leaks are inevitable, whether you make the most of them or not.

With E3 (and the summer gaming events) in full swing, here is a look at everything that leaked before we got to see it.

. Reddit Game List - Reddit posters who have leaked games in the past have posted a long list of games that will be at this year's E3. Many of these were confirmed at early showcases like the IGN Expo and made more credible by analyst Daniel Ahmad Expect to see some of these games appear throughout E3.

. Back 4 Blood on Game Pass - According to the leaked video, which is currently private, it seems certain that Back 4 Blood will appear on Game Pass at launch in October. Microsoft will have a lot to say about Game Pass at their conference on Sunday. (Whether this means Game Pass for PC as well as Xbox remains to be seen.)

. Game Pass Yakuza 7 - Another Game Pass leak. Actually, this is not a real leak. It's a social media teaser from Microsoft. Apparently Yakuza 7, which gained popularity last year, is coming to Game Pass. (Whether this means Game Pass for PC as well as Xbox remains to be seen.)

. Two Point Campus - The sequel to Two Point Hospital hit the Microsoft Store early last week; Two Point Campus allows players to build and run their own institution of higher learning, where students can go to night school, "giant pizzas and giant pies" Students can enroll in courses such as gastronomy, where they learn how to make Obviously, preparations are being made, and we expect an official announcement during the Xbox/Bethesda showcase.

. Marvel XCOM Game - 2K Games provided us with a two-on-one leak last week, starting with Firaxis' "turn-based action game", code-named "CODA", described as "XCOM with Marvel heroes". Personally, I'm fine with just "XCOM," but this may have a better chance of finding an audience than Square Enix's struggling "Avengers": according to the leak, the characters will be voiced by "famous actors" and may be linked to a Marvel movie rather than a comic Emerging.

. Gearbox's Tiny Tina spinoff - The second 2K leak hints at a new Borderlands game, possibly called Wonderlands, centered around Tiny Tina. PlayWonderlands" from the source code of bechaoticgreat.com, the teaser site for the "new adventure by Gearbox and 2K," which will be shown tomorrow, June 10, during the Summer Game Fest Kickoff live stream. The discovery of the site has increased its credibility.

. Final Fantasy Origins - Final Fantasy Souls-like" Indeed, it may be; the game, reportedly in development at Team Ninja, if the rumors are true, will resemble "Nioh," with "more accessible" gameplay than other titles in the genre, a difficulty settings will not function as in the usual "Souls". The expectation is that the game will appear during Square Enix's E3 show, and if it does appear, it will be a new title to avoid confusion with Final Fantasy Origins, which was released in 2002.

. Elden Ring - Will Elden Ring finally appear at E3' This is one of the big questions of the year, but in-house ringers have a good feeling. Part of this is no doubt due to Geoff Keighley's tweet implying an escape from gamer jail (apparently locked up since last year when he didn't show the Elden Ring), but the leak of the supposed Elden Ring video in early May is helping The image is dark and blurred. The footage is a dark, blurry 7-second clip that doesn't show much, but as Sean said at the time, at least it shows something.

. 'Halo' TV Series - This doesn't seem to have anything to do with E3, but screenshots of the "Halo" TV series have leaked, and it looks like Halo, and it looks like it's a "Halo" TV series, and it's a "Halo" TV series.

. Battle Cat - Battle Cat is He-Man's giant feline companion. It also appears to be the working name of a new competitive shooter in development at Ubisoft, which will mash up factions from the "Splinter Cell," "Ghost Recon," and "The Division" series in various game modes. That said, it looks to be pretty solid for this kind of thing, with leaks indicating that it will not appear at this weekend's Ubisoft Forward event.

. Division Heartland Heartland was announced to the world on May 6. Ten days later, gameplay footage from the closed beta was released. Although the quality was low, it revealed elements of the game that Ubisoft had not yet shared: that it is a third-person cover shooter, that at least one type of NPC enemy is called a Pilgrim, that players wield two guns and melee weapons, that dodge rolls and The player wields two guns and a melee weapon, and can perform dodge rolls and sliding runs. By all appearances, the game looks like a Division game, but as the title and key art for Heartland suggest, the setting is much more rural than the other games in the series.

. Tony Hawk Pro Skater - CKY drummer and Bam's brother, Jess Margera, seems to have dropped a dime on the new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game in a recent Behind Closed Doors podcast CKY has released Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 soundtrack with one song, and Margera said in an interview that they "will also have one song on the new film." The band was not included on the recently released remastered version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, and later in the interview Margera said that his children have already played that game.

. Call of Duty: Vanguard - The rumor on the street thanks to a March leak is that the next Call of Duty game will take us back to the morally simple glory days of World War II. Details are still in flux, with Modern Warzone reporting that some elements of the game will actually be set in the 1950s, possibly suggesting an alt-history setting where the war did not end in 1945, while Eurogamer has said that the traditional World War II setting, but either way, we are likely to be going back in time. More recent rumors suggest that it will not appear during the E3 festivities, but will be revealed at the "Warzone" in-game event later this year.

. Shin Megami Tensei 5 - This relatively recent leak comes from the official Shin Megami Tensei website in Japan. This date may be Japan-only, and as of now, Shin Megami Tensei 5 is listed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive (thus providing this information for Persona Central).

. Battlefield 2042 - The latest installment in EA's long-running Battlefield series leaked so much that developer DICE actually joked about it on Twitter. Despite a plethora of leaks, ranging from blurry screenshots to titles, nothing too big leaked out, and in the end, everything proved legit: Battlefield 2042 was officially unveiled today, and the looming battle for online attention The curtain has been raised on the looming battle for online attention.

A long list of leaks, but don't forget that there are almost certainly more to come. The big summer of online events kicks off in earnest tomorrow with Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live, which begins at 11:00 am PT (2:00 pm CST). As such, there is a good chance that more will be announced, and frankly, I would be surprised if nothing is announced. Keep a close eye on the E3 2021 schedule for the lineup of all the shows that will be taking place this summer.
