Final Fantasy 7 Remake Listed on Epic Games Store's Database Tracker

Remedy's 2010 supernatural shooter "Alan Wake" may be remastered thanks to an updated Epic Games Store listing.

The Epic Games Store site tracker, discovered by industry happenings magnet Wario64, has found a change to the listing codenamed HeronStaging that adds a cloud-save folder reference to Alan Wake Remastered. Pineapple QA has also been confirmed to be playing a similar trick with Final Fantasy 7 Remastered (no PC release planned).

As VGC noted, Final Fantasy 7's 12-month exclusivity period on PlayStation consoles ended this past April, but Square has made no formal announcement about other platforms. However, Square Enix recently ported the entire "Kingdom Hearts" series to PC for the first time on Epic.

Meanwhile, Remedy is currently working closely with Epic on two major projects, a "AAA multiplatform game" and a smaller game purportedly set in the same universe. Remedy is also part of the Remedy Connected Universe as "Alan Wake," which has long been teased as a revival of the "Alan Wake" series. If one of the two games is in fact a new "Alan Wake" game, it is not hard to imagine that the smaller project is a remaster of the 11-year-old original.

Note that as of this writing, both mentions have been removed from EpicData Tracker; while there is no official confirmation of a release of "Alan Wake Remastered" or "FF7R" at Epic, both are becoming very likely.
