Your favorite PC multitasking gadget can now control Philips Hue lights

Loupedeck is trying to win the hearts and minds of streamers with the latest update to the Loupedeck Live console. Integration with Philips Hue lighting makes it easier to change the lighting in the middle of the show.

First, let's take a look at the new Loupedeck user interface. I installed it on my machine to see what all the fuss is about, and it is much cleaner and simpler than the standard UI. The main UI is back to eight simple pages, with a few shortcuts pre-installed. But for the most part, there is free space to select shortcuts from the menu on the right.

As I mentioned in my Loupedeck Live review, you have to spend some time to use Loupedeck the way you want to. If you don't want to do that, or simply want an alternative to the Elgato Stream Deck for streaming, this new UI does its job and simplifies the process considerably.

Then there is native support for the Philips Hue software. This means that you can change your lighting setup by simply clicking on the touchpad or turning a dial (provided it's compatible with Philips.) It's also easy to access the Philips Hue app from the Loupedeck software and add shortcuts directly to the screen. Shortcuts such as "switch lamps," "switch zones," and even "switch rooms" are available.

The Philips Hue bridge is also supported by the LupeDeck CT.

The range of playback is expanded. If you already own a Loupedeck, you can download the 4.3 update from the Loupedeck website.
