Hard Space Shipbreaker wreckage now has a radiation warning.

Crushed. Frozen. Asphyxiation. Explosion. Demolishing the massive wreckage of hard space: shipbreakers already have their work cut out for them. But now the developer has slapped a radiation warning on the zero-gravity scrap yard sim in a new update this week.

Some of Hardspace's ships are equipped with radiation filters, which, when dislodged, begin to leak dangerous radio waves. When this filter is removed, dangerous radio waves begin to be emitted. Naturally, exposure to this filter gradually drains one's strength, but strangely enough, this radiation also affects other parts of the ship, corrupting and weakening nearby materials.

The radioactive material is also flammable, so be extra careful around fuel lines and engine cores. This week's update also tweaks the UI of the Habitat Hub to make it easier to understand, in advance of a complete rebuild later this year.

This is a small and neat update following last month's major overhaul that gave Hardspace the beginnings of a full-voiced campaign. Over the past year, Blackbird has been steadily adding new ships (some of them ghost ships) to its game lineup. But the core of the game, which is all about cutting spaceships apart like billion-dollar onions, remains as satisfying as ever.

Just don't forget to have your Geiger counter ready for the next shift.
