Microsoft Announces Holiday Release Date for Windows 11.

Over the past few weeks, Microsoft finally unveiled Windows 11 at the pre-show media warm-up for its "What's Next for Windows" event. The new version of the Windows operating system promises a major overhaul of the UI and many enhancements to make our promises many enhancements to make our lives more meaningful. Isn't that what a good operating system is all about?

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 will be released by the holidays later this year, but beta access to various builds is available for Windows Insiders ahead of the final release next week.

Of course, early builds of Windows 11 have already been leaked, meaning that many enthusiasts will be able to sneak their way through the new OS' complex features through malicious and unauthorized means. Microsoft's Frank Shaw, however, has divulged that the "incomplete builds that some people were playing with last week" are not the real Windows 11.

Aside from the UI changes, one of the most interesting parts of Windows 11, especially for us geeky PC gamers, is that the hardware scheduler is rumored to be tuned for Intel's new Alder Lake processors that will be released this year. Hopefully by the time Alder Lake is released, Windows 11 will be available with the inevitable bugs fixed.
