"Valheim" launched in Early Access in February, and mods have already appeared on a frightening scale. One of them is Nexus Mods' VHVR. This unofficial VR mod was recently updated to allow players to play survival games with motion controls, so Valheim players can now punch wolves with their actual bodies if they so desire.

For players less interested in punching, the updated control set also includes motion-accurate archery.) ) "We support multiplayer play, and honestly, we like the idea of relaxing and unwinding while we fish with our buddies." Motion tracking is supported for multiplayer, so you can wave hello to your friends (and other lewd hand gestures of your choice)." I guess the gesture would be something like, "Come here so I can slap you with a fish and challenge you to a chess match." It all sounds good to me.

There are still limitations to the multiplayer implementation. Players not using the VR mod on the multiplayer server will see visibly out of sync animations, such as no upper body animations for players using the mod. To avoid visual oddities, VR players are encouraged to play only with other VR players.

Like many survival games, Valheim has a very enthusiastic modding scene. Christopher has previously compiled a list of some of his favorite Valheim mods, ranging from practical things like inventory expansion to magic cylinders that increase stamina. Perhaps this will be on a future list as well.

The next major update planned for official Valheim is the recently postponed Hearth and Home update to make the game as stable as possible. This update is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2021, but until then there will always be modders.
