Marvel's "Avengers" July Update Allows Players to Become the Same Heroes

Marvel's Avengers will allow multiple players on the same team to play the same hero permanently starting with the next update after testing this feature in a limited-time event called Tachyon Anomaly.

Square Enix detailed this and other upcoming changes to this live service beat-up in the July roadmap update: "Finally, due to your feedback, multiple players of the same hero during matchmaking and when forming strike teams feature will be turned on permanently." If you've ever played Marvel Heroes and seen three Hulks running around together, you'll be thrilled.

Also coming in July is an Omega-level threat: Square Enix's "toughest content yet ...... It will climax with a chaotic battle against the Super Adaptoids: ...... It's what we call "Family Reunion," with "phenomenal new abilities this time around. The multiplayer mega-hive is also more difficult, but the amount of Heroic Gauntlets required is halved, allowing the game to be completed more quickly.

Elsewhere, the Wakanda War expansion is scheduled for August, adding Black Panther as a playable hero, new villains including Crowe, and costumes inspired by Marvel movies.
