I found an update that no one has mentioned about Windows 11. All I can say is that this new layout is fantastic. The latest version of Windows was released last week, but there is already a Windows 11 Insider Preview build out and we have been messing around with it since it was released yesterday.

I chose to dual boot and not erase the existing installation. Alan did the update on the fly. This is a dangerous game. I have already discovered that one of the games I am currently playing, Snowrunner, will not allow snowrunning on Windows 11.

Thankfully, Football Manager 2021 works on Windows 11.

PC Gamer prefers to use em-dash, so the emoji keyboard is relied upon on standard Windows 10 machines. Everyone keeps telling me I should use Alt code, but I've never used Alt code, so I either have to auto-replace it in Google Docs or use my trusty emoji keyboard.

Unfortunately, in Windows 10 this keyboard is a tiny little thing, a tiny black panel that seems ashamed of its existence. In Windows 11, however, it is different. Pressing [Win] + [Period] now brings up a larger, smiley-enhanced panel that also offers the option to throw in a GIF from whatever dialog box accepts GIFs.

The panel has the characteristic Windows 11 curve, with a small drop shadow below it. The number of emoji characters has also increased. The classic ASCII emoticons, or Kaomojis, are certainly much better laid out now.

It was a real (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻ moment trying to dig them out of Google every time I wanted to describe something in the old language.
