No news on Dragon Age 4, but concept art is available.

We knew that no new Dragon Age 4 or Mass Effect games would be announced at this year's EA Play. Nevertheless, BioWare executive producer Christian Dailey posted an apology on Twitter along with new concept art, promising that "the team is keeping their heads down with momentum and making great progress," with more to come when the time is right. He stated that he would share more.

While fun, it is risky to extrapolate from concept art.

Antivan Crow, a guild of assassins, has appeared numerous times in stories published between Dragon Age: Inquisition and the present. The short story collection Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights, released last year, included multiple stories about assassins, including Courtney Woods' stakeout of "The Wigmaker Job". Then, on Dragon Age Day in December 2020, Mary Kirby released "The Wake," an official short story featuring the same raven as Woods. And this is not the first concept art showing what appears to be a crow with an identifying mask and feather cape.

Whatever else may be in the works, it is reasonable to assume that ravens will at least appear in Dragon Age 4. Whether this art depicts a specific raven or is simply an idea for a raven is unknown, as Dragon Age 4 is still in its early stages.

Dragon Age 4 underwent an important shift in its development earlier this year; according to a Bloomberg report, the title was previously designed with "heavy multiplayer components." These elements were removed following the disappointing performance of Anthem and the success of the single-player Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This was after it had already been rebooted as a "live" game in 2018.

As the development of the vision for Dragon Age 4 has gone through many changes, the concept art can only tell us so much, even if it is a pleasant one. For more information, read everything we know about Dragon Age 4.
