It seems very likely that NBA superstar LeBron James will be coming to Fortnite soon, with Dataminer's Hypex and Shiina saying that James will be added as an Icon Series skin in the next update.

Shiina was the first to claim that James will appear as an Icon Series skin, while Hypex said that players can earn rewards by completing the King's Bling quest, that James' nickname among basketball fans is King James, his Twitter handle is also King James, and that items become "more gold" as the quest is completed. Once all of the quests are completed, a slider is available to customize the level of gold in the items.

The timing also looks good: as Dot Esports noted, James will appear in Space Jam: A New Legacy, which opens in theaters and on HBO Max on July 16. Promotional crossovers are a natural progression and almost unprecedented: Epic participated in a crossover event with the entire NBA in May before the 2021 playoffs, adding uniforms, new emotes and back blings for all 30 teams.

If James makes it to Fortnite as an Icon Series skin, he will join the likes of Ninja, Lachlan, Lazerbean, Major Lazer, Marshmello, TheGrefg, Travis Scott, and Ross Fruit. We will let you know when he makes an appearance.
