Solasta Crown of Magister" First Major Update Includes Sorcerer and More

Solasta, which closed Early Access on May 27, is a turn-based RPG based on the D&D 5th Edition rules, and has a 90% positive Steam user review rating. Developer Tactical Adventures is currently working on Solasta's first major update, adding the Iron Man difficulty mode and the Sorcerer class (which was a Kickstarter stretch goal), which will be released on July 13.

Sorcerers, unlike wizards, use charisma rather than intellect to power their spells. They derive their power from Origins, and Solasters will have three to choose from: Draconic Bloodline (which is the usual D&D option, based on one of their ancestors being bound to a dragon), Mana Painter (which means draining magic from the surroundings), Children of the Rift (which means that they gained power from an eerie cataclysm in Solasta's past, the Closing of the Breach).

The update also adds environments for use with Solasta's Dungeon Maker, mod.io support for the GOG version, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian localization, and various bug fixes.

Rick Lane gave Solasta a thumbs up in his review, calling it "the most faithful virtual representation of the D&D ruleset since Neverwinter Nights."

Since Baldur's Gate 3 is being put off until after Early Access is finished Baldur's Gate 3 is being put off until after Early Access, this game will be its replacement.
