Gigabyte's G27Q is our favorite 1440p FreeSync monitor and is on sale for $260.

When we reviewed Gigabyte's G27Q last year, our assessment was that it "surprised and delighted beyond its mundane appearance." Now it's discounted to $259.99 at Newegg. At the heart of this display is an IPS panel with 2560x1440 resolution, 1ms response time (MPRT), and 144Hz refresh rate. These specs make it suitable for use with mid-range or high-end graphics cards.

Also, this is a FreeSync Premium monitor, the middle level of AMD's FreeSync brand. Its advantages over regular FreeSync are a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz (144 Hz in this case) and support for low frame rate compensation (LFC).

Color gamut is also very good here: according to Gigabyte, the G27Q can cover 92% and 120% of the DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamuts, respectively, and in our hands-on experience, games look phenomenal on this monitor.

"Having seen many monitors recently, we were immediately struck by the rich colors and contrast of the G27Q. The dynamic contrast ratio is 12M : 1 and it shows. Colors are punchy and vibrant, and the image is vivid from dark to bright areas. Kizito, who reviewed this display, noted that "there are also plenty of controls to calibrate the monitor to your liking."

Other features include DisplayHDR 400 certification, two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.2 input, and two USB 3.0 ports.
